Freedom in Christ - Spiritual Stubbornness Overcome
07/04/10
Dr. Phil Wilkes, Matthew 11:16-26
We celebrate our nation’s birthday today. We recognize and honor all those who made sacrifices to protect our freedom. Through Jesus Christ we experience freedom from the control of a sinful nature. With freedom comes responsibility.
Jesus speaks in this passage about the stubbornness of those who heard Jesus teach but really didn’t hear him. They were too set in their ways to allow God’s truth to penetrate their cold hearts.
You can avoid spiritual stubbornness by protecting yourself from three things that can harm your spiritual life. This message looks at ways to be spiritually healthy while avoiding getting stuck in ways that are not beneficial to you or others. Through Christ you really can experience ultimate freedom, freedom to become the man or woman that God desires for you.
