Perhaps you heard about the state dinner with the President of the United States. You must have an invitation to go in and have dinner with our President. However one couple was able to get past security, sneak in, and even shake hands with the President without having an invitation.
You don’t have to do any of that with God. You have an open invitation, 24 hours a day, to come into God’s presence. Prayer is a wonderful gift that we have from God. We are able to spend time with the Lord, bring our concerns and burdens to him, pray for others, seek his help and ask for forgiveness and receive it. Pray is a powerful tool for Christians.
This message takes a look at how we can effectively use prayer and some of the misconceptions about prayer. Jesus regularly went off by himself to spend time with the Father. The early church continually gathered together to pray. We don’t have to spend life consumed by worry and anxiety. Paul says in Philippians 4 when we pray we will experience the peace of God in our lives. Set aside time each day to be with God.
