Hope

Stephanie Potter, 2 Kings 6:8-ff, Rom 8:31-ff

What or who is your Hope? How do you stay hopeful in a broken world? This sermon looks at the real place that our hope is found. In the fact that God has always promised His children Himself, and fulfilled that promised completely in the person of Jesus. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, we know that nothing can separate us from the love of God, not even sin and death. Hope is also found in the way we live it out together as the Body of Christ.  Passages looked at are II Kings 6: 8-ff and Romans 8: 31-ff.

Which Way Will You Walk?

Dr. Phil Wilkes, Ephesians 4:1-3

As we enter a new year there will be many decisions you have to make every day. Some of those will be simple ones. Others will be more difficult. When you become a Christian there is an expectation that you will walk in a different way than before you knew Christ. Knowing Christ will inform the decisions you make every day. They are now under the control of Christ.

Paul urges Christians to walk in a manner worthy of the calling received from Christ. You will have the opportunity to decide in the new year how you will live your life. Paul urges Christians to make the effort to live in such a way that Christ is honored each day. In fact, the evidence of Christ controlling you is seen in how you treat other people. Each day you can choose to walk with Christ and allow him to work through you to encourage others, to build them up, to bear their burdens and to love them when they are at their worst. The question is “which way will you walk?” Will you choose to walk in such a way that you are making an eternal difference in people’s lives?
