In Psalm 23:4 David describes the faithfulness of the Shepherd to lead his flock through the valley. It is no fun living in crisis or dealing with trouble. So what do you do when the storm is raging and all your friends seemed to have checked out of your life? In this verse we find some good news. In this message we will look at the care, protection and guidance of the Shepherd when you are in the valley. You can be assured that you never travel alone when you are in the valley. Your Shepherd knows how to lead you through without being overwhelmed.

It can be quite difficult to know what to do sometimes when there are many opinions and voices pulling you in different directions. What do you do? Which way do you go? Which voice should you follow?
It is so encouraging to know that we have a Shepherd who will lead us the right way. When David says the Lord will lead you in path’s of righteousness that means the Shepherd is taking an active role in your life. He is investing himself in your well being. All of the opinions and voices around you do not have to confuse you. Listen to the voice of the Shepherd.He knows the best way for you to go.

Psalm 23 has brought comfort and assurance to many Christians in their lives. In this second of a five part series we are looking at how the Shepherd works in our lives “When Life Overheats.” In this message we examine verses 2-3a where the Shepherd is taking care of his flock.
There are some conditions which must be met in order for a Sheherd’s flock to settle down and be at peace. They must be free of all fear. Sheep cannot be in conflict with each other. They must be free of irritation from bugs and parasites. Finally they must be well fed and satisfied. When these conditions are met then the flock will rest and be refreshed.
When life overheats our Shepherd knows how to care for you so that you can be refreshed. This message examines how the Shepherd can do that in your life.

In fact, Christ gave away his life and shed his blood so that you might become a child of God. Christ promises to be your faithful shepherd and to care for you as you journey through this life. Over the next five messages entitled “When Life Overheats” we will discover how the Shepherd will work in you, encourage you, comfort you, provide you with direction and be faithful to you. This first message beings with the assurance you have a shepherd who guides you.
