Construction Zone – Families Being Built: Use the Right Glue
05/30/10
Dr. Phil Wilkes, Ephesians 5:25-31
When Paul describes the relationship between Christ and the church he intermingles it with a description of the marriage relationship. Christ Agape loved the church but his love didn’t just reveal itself in emotions. Christ lived his love with actions.
What is it that creates a strong marriage that can endure the challenges, trials and up and downs of life? Often people think if they have the “feeling” of love that makes them ready for marriage and that feeling will bond them together for life. But we all know emotions can send you on a roller coaster ride.
How do you know when love is such that it will provide the glue for a permanent relationship between a man and woman when they get married? What is it that can enable a husband and wife to continue to live out their love for each other through the hardships, challenges, disappointments, celebrations and victories that they will share?
This message examines some of the qualities that can create a healthy, vibrant marriage that lasts a lifetime. The glue that binds a couple together begins with the kind of love Christ has for us and that we then share with our spouse.

Give Me that Old Time Religion
05/23/10
Rev. Jim Weber, 2 Tim 4:3
This message looks at some of the foundational truths of the Christian faith. In a day of moral relativism it is critical that you turn to the unchanging truth of God and his word to build your life. In this message you are encouraged to turn to the bible as the foundation of your faith and continue to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ. While many today want to hear only that which is good and pleasant to the ears this message encourages believers to continue to embrace all of God's word as truth. You are called to live out your faith and by doing so to influence others to so that those who do not know the Lord might be saved.

Dr. Phil Wilkes, Matthew 20:20-21
This is Mother’s Day. This text isn’t one you might normally use but I think if we get below the surface we will discover some positive qualities in this mom that will serve you well. This mom made a request to Jesus concerning her two sons. While the request may have seemed selfish there are other aspects to this that are positive. She believed in her sons and she saw the potential they had. She also took action on their behalf. With child abuse continuing to wreck lives and families it is vital our children know they are loved, supported and prayed for.
