Building a Legacy

God gave instructions to his people to teach their children to walk in his ways as they prepared to enter the promised land. The temptation would be to get busy building a new life in the promised land and forget or ignore God in their lives. So the Lord tells them to teach their kids to love God.
It is important for parents to have the right focus. The temptation is to push Jesus to the fringes or leftovers of one's life. Jesus is to be the center of your life and your family. Realize you are in spiritual combat for the heart of each member of your family.
Share your faith with each member. Be proactive and intentional in living your faith at home. Live authentically for Jesus. You will have a powerful influence for Christ in your family. Take advantage of teachable moments and be intentional in helping others in your family come to love Jesus Christ and live for him.
