It’s interesting to note that many churches, small, large and mega churches, have some similar challenges. One of them is that only about 20% of a congregation is doing 80% of the ministry. Or even worse is the belief by some Christians that they pay the pastor to do all the ministry. It’s no wonder that many pastors either burn out or completely leave the ministry.

This message focuses on how the Holy Spirit places spiritual gifts in the life of every Christian. These gifts are to be used in the local church to serve others in the congregation, build them up and glorify God by utilizing gifts in the body.

The Holy Spirit also empowers us to take the gospel to people who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus instructed the disciples and us to go into the world to make disciples and baptize them. But they had to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit after Jesus ascension into heaven. As God’s Spirit controls us we are to help others come to faith in Christ. There is an urgency to this as well.

God’s Spirit equips and empowers us as believers to be about seeking first His kingdom.

How will you use your spiritual gifts in your church? Who do you know that needs to hear the gospel?
