Hilarious Giving
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
The focus of our giving as Christians is the kingdom of God and the local church where we serve God and his people. Our motivation for tithing (10%) and above the tithe (sacrificial giving) comes from our gratitude to the Lord Jesus for our salvation. We give out of gratitude and joy. The results are that the local church has the resources to do ministry and share the gospel in the community, support missions work in the U.S. and internationally as well as helping sponsor missionaries. Hilarious Giving should be the norm for Christians but nationally only 2-3% of Christians actually tithe. Giving out of gratitude will stir our hearts to ask “how much can I give” not “what’s the least I can give.”
