What Did You Say?
Ephesians 4:22-24; Ephesians 4:29; Psalm 19:14
Your words are powerful. They can bring great encouragement or sink someone in despair. They are able to build someone up or tear them down. Words bring life. Words also destroy. As a follower of Jesus you are called to use your words to honor God and build others up. One of the subtle sins regarding words is that of gossip and slander. These two practices destroy lives, ruin marriages, separate families and divide churches. Be careful that every word you speak honors the Lord that you serve. Jesus reminds us that we will be held accountable for every word we speak. Allow your words to glorify God. Have nothing to do with those who gossip or slander others. Instead use your words to glorify God and build others up.
